How the GCSE STEMpath Programme Works

A clear, structured two-year pathway from the start of GCSEs in May 2026 through to sitting exams in Summer 2028.

Programme Timeline

The programme begins in May 2026 and runs through to the Summer 2028 GCSE exams.

  • Three terms per year: May–July, Sept–Dec, Jan–April
  • Two full years of structured teaching
  • Revision and exam support in May–June 2028

Weekly Lesson Pattern

Lessons run during term time, typically Monday to Thursday between 9am and 1pm.

  • Live, interactive online teaching
  • Small, focused groups
  • Timetables confirmed before the start of each year

Teaching & Support

Lessons follow a clear scheme of work with regular retrieval practice and exam-style questions.

  • Direct teaching plus guided practice
  • Regular feedback via homework and tests
  • Termly assessments to track progress

Assessments & Expectations

STEMpath Academy is designed for students who are commited to their GCSEs. We keep expectations clear so that families know exactly what is required to qualify for our Grade 7–9 guarantee.

Assessments

  • Passing mark for all assessments: 70%, with one retake available per assessment if needed.
  • Termly assessments completed under online exam conditions, with cameras on and printed papers.
  • Half-termly tests to keep topics fresh and identify any gaps.
  • Detailed marking and feedback that links directly to exam-style criteria.

Attendance & Homework

  • Minimum 95% lesson attendance across the programme, unless absence is authorised in writing.
  • At least 90% of homework attempted and submitted on time, in a single PDF unless agreed otherwise.
  • Homework is designed to consolidate classwork and build exam-style fluency.
  • These expectations form part of the conditions of the Grade 7–9 guarantee.

Class Participation

  • Students must have their video on for registration at the start of lessons.
  • During lessons, students are expected to participate using both their microphone and the chat when asked.
  • Active participation helps assess understanding and identify misconceptions during the lesson.
  • These expectations form part of the conditions of the Grade 7–9 guarantee.

Support Through the Exam Period

Teaching does not stop when the syllabus ends. In May–June 2028, we stay with students through the GCSE exam window.

Targeted Revision

Live revision lessons based on mock results and assessment data so time is focused where it matters most.

Practice Papers & Marking

Regular practice papers with full marking and indicative grading, so students know exactly where they stand.

Calm, Structured Support

Timetabled support until exams are complete, helping students manage workload, timing and exam technique.

Additional GCSE Subjects Through Our Partner

For families who want a complete GCSE package, students can take additional subjects through our partner online tuition group, with timetables coordinated so lessons do not clash with STEMpath Academy.

  • English Language
  • English Literature
  • Geography
  • Islamic Studies

These subjects are delivered by our partner provider and booked separately, but we work together to avoid timetable clashes.
